Great Lakes Adventist Academy Bell Choir is an ensemble of enthusiastic young handbell ringers committed to revealing God’s love through their music. Open to by audition to all interested students, Bell Choir performs a variety of excellent music.

The group tours regularly around the state of Michigan and beyond, including a week-long tour in the spring (previous destinations include Chicago, Indianapolis, New York City, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Huntsville, Atlanta, and Tennessee). Come be apart of this exciting group!

Chamber Singers

Great Lakes Adventist Academy Chamber Singers are committed to striving for excellence in singing and in serving. We study a wide variety of musical literature that enhances world-view, and encourages a deeper and more intimate experience with God. We especially see the importance of being intentional about asking the Holy Spirit to help us use music to set a spiritual atmosphere for God to do His work in worship.

Each year is another opportunity to find creative and productive avenues to reach a variety of audiences, whether it is at a church of any faith, in a concert hall, in a home, in a prison, a soup kitchen, children’s home and many more. We tour Michigan often, including a week-long tour in the spring (previous destinations include Chicago, Indianapolis, New York City, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Huntsville, Atlanta, and Tennessee).

Private Lessons

Great Lakes Adventist Academy offers private lessons for academic credit on all woodwind, brass, percussion, string, and keyboard instruments as well as private vocal instruction. Students receive weekly lessons in their area, as well as daily practice time.

Lessons are highly encouraged, as they will result in much-improved performance and musicianship. Please talk to one of the teachers listed below about signing up for lessons.

Great Lakes Adventist Academy Voice lessons attract young people who desire one-on-one coaching and instruction for their voice. This intimate setting does not omit the spiritual principles are applied to the intricacies of using the voice to communicate effectively to any audience. Some students don’t have any public singing experience while others do. For both, the process nurtures musical and spiritual growth that greatly impacts many areas of life. Performances include may include singing at church service, Sabbath school, Vespers programs, dorm worships, and a recital at the end of the semester

We are building a tradition that means serving the community to meet their needs both physically and spiritually through music and the many talents that God has given each student.

String Ensemble

Great Lakes Adventist Academy String Ensemble will use their distinctive talents to enhance worship for optimal results by the Holy Spirit. We seek to study a variety of musical literature that includes many of the historical music periods, various ethnic backgrounds and nationalities, seasons, and levels of difficulty. Since this is a new group, the possibilities are endless, and we want God to use however and whenever He wants.

One aspect makes us unique is that we have the opportunity to perform great classical works and other kinds of musical genres with the Choral groups. We tour Michigan often, including a week-long tour in the spring (previous destinations include Chicago, Indianapolis, New York City, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Huntsville, Atlanta, and Tennessee). We look forward to ministering in music and in service on our tours, and in the Cedar Lake Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Wind Symphony

Great Lakes Adventist Academy Wind Symphony is a group of vibrant young musicians dedicated to sharing God’s love through their music. Open by audition to all interested woodwind, brass, and percussion players, the Wind Symphony focuses on learning a diverse repertoire of quality instrumental literature.
